In just under three weeks time it will be curtain up for the Inkberrow village pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.
The pantomime is being staged by locally renowned theatre group, the Inkberrow Players, and this year JUMP Dance Academy are delighted to have been invited to take part.
It all started back in early autumn when I was approached to help with the choreography for the show. A group of JUMP Dance Academy’s modern students will also have the chance to show off their skills by performing a dance number in the pantomime.
Rehearsals have been going well, with the cast quickly picking up the dance moves for the chorus numbers. I’ve been impressed with the enthusiasm and energy of the group despite a few tricky steps I’ve thrown at them! I can’t wait to see them with all the lights, costume, staging and excitement on the night.
Our grade 4 modern class have been working hard on their dance number. I won’t give too much away but there is a wintery theme to the dance and I know they are all really going to sparkle on stage! The girls have been learning the routine in their dance classes at Abbots Morton and we’ve had lots of fun putting it altogether.
Beauty and the Beast will be performed at Inkberrow village hall on the 14th, 15th and 16th December at 7.30pm as well as a Saturday matinee on the 16th.
It promises to be a great night of family entertainment, with all the acting, singing, dancing and laughter you’d expect from a great panto – including a wicked witch, a pantomime dame, a French poodle and of course, Beauty and the Beast.
Tickets are just £8 and are available from the Forge Shop and Post Office in Inkberrow.
It’s really fantastic to be able to be part of a local community performance and for the children to be able showcase the skills they’ve learned in dance lessons on stage. So I hope you’ll all come along and support our dancers!
